Hello Stamping Friends,
I have great news! The Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies are in the Clearance Rack:
These framelits and a matching stamp set were offered in August for a limited time and I held a class for those who purchased the bundle.
Check out the previous post – HERE
Even though the stamp set is not available the shaped and stitched framelits are great and we have many flower and leaf stamps that will work with the framelits. Even the little bell framelit could be cut out and drawn and colored in without having the stamp set.

Fall Card: Thanks to Kay Kalthoff at stampingtoshare
This card uses designer series paper (DSP) in such a way that you see both sides of the paper. What a concept! You will want to remember these cuts when you have a DSP that you can’t decide which side to use because both sides are beautiful. Show off both sides like this!
- Base – Cajun Craze 5 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ Score the 5 1/4 side at 4 1/4″ making a 1″ flap
- DSP layer – Nature’s Poem DSP 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ Adhere under the 1″ flap
- Frame – Cajun Craze – Largest Framelit – 5 1/2″ X 4″
- Top Frame – Whisper White – Medium Framelit – 4 1/2″ X 3 1/2″
- Front DSP Strip – 3/4″ X 5 1/4″
- Inside Layer – Whisper White – 4″ X 5 1/4″
- Inside DSP Strip – 1/2″ X 5 1/4″
The leaves and spots were stamped in Soft Suede Ink and the spots were overstamped in Crushed Curry. The leaves were colored with water color pencils and then blended with an aqua painter. The outside of the framelit was sponged with Cajun Craze and glitter enamel dots were added for sparkle. A double bow of linen thread ( 20″) completed the card.
Do you see how the framelits are just about the best shape since the retired Top Note Die?!
I thought I had missed the chance to post these cards when I didn’t get it done in August but thankfully the framelits popped up in the Clearance Rack.
Our current hostess code is 6E7477K2 and if you buy $50 worth of product you can choose a free level 1 product or with $100 you receive a level 2 product!

Hello Stamping Friends,
I love to resubscribe to Paper Pumpkin in September, October and November. September usually has something to give those special Trick or Treaters, October has beautiful fall cards and then December has Christmas cards. “Usually” is the key. It is always a surprise.
In the past it has been a fast way to add another 8-10 cards to your Christmas handmade card stack. This is last year’s Christmas card modified by me to change the sky to black with stars instead of white but all the other pieces are from the kit.
And this was the October kit, a beautiful shaker card, the envelopes are always beautiful:
And in September we received a kit with cute little test tubes to fill with goodies:
This month you can get one month for half price if you are a new subscriber.
And for those of us who aren’t new subscribers you can buy three months using your online order account set up in my store. A code will be sent to your email and then you will go to paperpumpkin.com and enter the code. The system asks for your credit card info but there is no need to enter any information since you are prepaid.
There are many holiday products still in the Clearance Rack- Left hand side of the store is the link.
hmmmmm……. I see some potential door prize basket stuffers for my upcoming Christmas Card Buffets!
You only have four more days to RSVP for the first session on August 26! Contact me by Friday to reserve a spot.
This year’s Christmas Card Buffets will be at my house in Castle Rock. I will hold one a month on a Saturday for the next four months and there will be three sessions each day:
– Morning 9-12
– Limit of six guests per session. (Of course you may sign up for more than one.)
-Six different card designs from which to choose; shoebox style buffet where
everything to make your card is in a tray that you take to a table to construct
your cards, then exchange it for another style from the buffet and craft away!
-$5 fee for each session includes light meal, raffle ticket for door prize, thank you
gift (and chocolate)!
-Card kits to purchase (bring your own scissors and adhesives):
– $5 for one card

In a three hour session most stampers can complete three different designs with two of each. Some do the stamping and cutting here and put them together at home.

SAL, Stamp A Lot with the Stampalosopher
Hello Stamping Friends, (Click little SAL to go to the full blog if you are on your phone)
Stampin’ Up! just added lots and lots of goodies to the clearance rack. They will be available while supplies last. I will post screen shots at the end of this post to entice you! If your order is $150 you earn hostess rewards; if it is under $150 use the hostess code FCZSQ336 and get a treat from me!
For now let me show you my version of a Double Z fold box card. The standard double Z fold card base is cut and scored like this:
Base card is 9 3/4″ X 4″ (This gives you the option of adhering the entire card to a base of 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″)
Cuts: Using your Stampin’ Trimmer, with the 4″ side on top, cut at 1″ starting at 3″ to 7 1/2″. (I love how our Stampin’ Trimmer has the inches marked on the vertical bar to guide us.) Turn to long side and score at 3″ down to the cut line and then score at 5 1/4″ all the way top to bottom. Lastly, score at the 7 1/2″ from cut line down to bottom. That is a standard Double Z fold.
I chose to do a Double Z fold “Box” card instead of having an open middle as shown above so I could add a middle box strip to put on a jar of flowers. Our stamping friend, Terri, is getting married this month and her colors are gray and hot pink. Congratulations Terri!
Base Card: 9 3/4″ X 4″ Score at 3″ and 5 1/4″ all the way top to bottom. Basic Gray used here.
Bottom Strip: 9 3/4″ X 1″ Score at 5 1/4″ and 7 1/2″. Basic Gray.
Box Strip: 4 1/4″ X 1″. Score at 1″ and 3 1/4″. Basic Gray.
Front Panel: 2 3/4″ X 3 3/4″ to glue on before the 1″ bottom strip is adhered. Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Back Panel: 4 1/4″ X 3 3/4″ to glue on before the 1″ bottom strip is adhered. Pop of Pink DSP.
Bottom Strip DSP: 9 1/2″ X 3/4″ Score at 5 1/8″ and 7 3/8″. Pop of Pink DSP.
Whisper White cardstock was used for all the embellishments with the bow on the heart stamped first in Melon Mambo then cut with the bow framelit in the Everyday Jars Framelit set . I cut one full Flourish Thinlit for the front, and for the bouquet I used the top of another full Flourish thinlit for two of the flowers, one of the single Flourish thinlit flowers and one of the single stem bud Flourish thinlits. I cut off a few of the extra buds that made it a bit too busy.
The jar is stamped twice from the Jar of Love stamp set and cut out with the shortest of the Eyeryday Jars Framelits. I stamped the bow in Melon Mambo on one of the jars and then put sticky tape/glue dots on the top of the back of the jar to hold the flowers as I arranged them, being careful to not place a flower too far to the left where it would be crunched in the fold. I attached the back jar to the front jar just at the top and slid the two over the middle gray box strip adhering both sides with Tombow glue.
The border comes from the Flourish Thinlits set.
The Heart and Congrats are from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
I found it easy to adhere all the thinlits by putting a few drops of Tombow glue on our Silicone Craft Sheet and then using a toothpick to put glue on the thinlit. The glue in the new Fine Tip Glue pen has a tendency to dry too fast for my slow speed.
The greeting comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set. It should be stamped on the middle of the base before adding the embellishments. I had to add a 3″ X 2 3/16″ panel with the greeting. Design opportunity…..I could have used a different cardstock, but you know how I like the monochromatic look. (If you don’t get the card mailed in time for a wedding, you could easily add a panel that says Happy Birthday!)

SAL, (Save A Lot)
Hello Stamping Friends,
I find it hard to believe the kiddos are headed back to school and all the stores are dressing up with fall colors. I am in denial that summer is almost over even though I do love fall (and really really love getting a new Holiday catalog!! It will be available September 1.)
Whether you love summer or fall, August offers a special stamp set and Thinlits bundle called Thoughtful Branches that is available only in August. You could ink up the stamp with green or gold; or….check out how Mary Bush from stampininthesand.blogspot.com used the set to make a beautiful hydrangea flower with our Sugarplum In Color. Thank you, Mary.
Many of you earned a $5 Bonus coupon in July that you can spend on any product in August so don’t let the month get away.
Use the hostess code BT6BQYXS if your order is under $150 and Lucille will get the hostess credit for our club meeting September 10 and you can meet your club minimum with $5 to cover your shipping costs. You received your $5 discount code by email if you spent $50 in July. Both the discount and the special bundle go away at the end of August.
If you have never tried Paper Pumpkin now is the time with a BOGO special. Buy one month and get the second free!
Go to mypaperpumpkin.com and enter the promo code BOGO after setting up your account.
That’s the news for today! Check out the Clearance Rack with its specials which are perfect for fall. Wouldn’t you love “BOO” on your Halloween cards? We used the rectangle in the Seasonal Framelits for last month’s magic card and saved oodles of time and measuring.
Have a great summer!

Next event: Card Buffet, October 17, 10AM – 4PM I will have six designs. Make one of each design or just pick two or three designs and make multiples of those designs. Please RSVP before noon on Thursday so I have enough card kits. Lunch and snacks are provided. Cost is $3 per card.
Blog Updates: There are now tabs at the top of the blog which allow you to go directly to the catalogs and another tab to go to the Recipe Box where you can get the printable downloads of project instruction sheets, and you can click on the thumbnail picture to go back to the blog where that project was originally introduced. When you want to make a card that is similar but do not want to try and figure out the dimensions, visit the Recipe Box. Let me know if this helps spice up your crafting life.
Do you remember the front of the Occasions Catalog in January? It was the beautiful bouquet kit. I needed a special bouquet for a special friend and was delighted with this kit.
Several of you bought the Build A Bouquet kit so hopefully this will inspire you to make it. Just remember it is a project and don’t expect to get it done in one evening. I kept reminding myself that it wasn’t a card to be done in an hour but a project, like a quilt, to be done over time-but well worth the time. The back was as pretty as the front:
The “Build A Bouquet” stamp set had a perfect message:
Give me a call when you get ready to build your own bouquet and you can use my stamp set and the directions that I recreated so they were easier to follow. 303-815-0838
