Hello Stamping Friends,

Welcome to November!  With November we have exciting news – the new paper trimmer is available and we have an exclusive Christmas Stamp Suite – not just a little stamp set or a nice bundle but an entire suite of matching products!  Of course you can order them separately but who would want just a little – not us!  The more the merrier!

Slow down, Karen, did you say the new trimmer is here?!

Yes, indeed- take a look see:

I looked at a dozen or so reviews on Youtube and found a short one with Mary Deatheridge:

Click on the image to see the Youtube video.

Okay, SAL, can I move on to the Christmastime Is Here Suite?

Do you have a video for the suite?

Yes, here is a video from Frenchie Stamps that details the products:

Did you note in the video that the die will cut out one of the rose bouquets on the designer series paper?  Nice!!

This is available while supplies last so don’t tarry if you like it!

Every year Stampin’ Up! has demonstrators apply to be on the Artisan Design Team.  It is an honor to be selected and these demonstrators are amazing and will show you these new products used in a project.   Join me for their fun blog hop; just click on the link above which will take you to the first blog and then, usually toward the bottom of the post,  you will see the banner to visit the other blogs.  Have fun!

If you are new to my blog, I would love to earn your business by supporting you in this fun hobby of stamping.

Happy May Day!

Happy May Day Stamping Friends,

The lilacs will soon be blooming, the yellow finch will return and the grass will be green!!  YAY!!  I know, I know, it was snowing yesterday and raining today but……..  it is spring in Colorado.

Today Stampin’ Up! is offering a medley of products all bundled together with matching ribbon and designer series paper and lots more….  It is available until May 31 or until sold out!

The video above will give you a close up of the products.  Aren’t they beautiful?  The gold edged navy blue ribbon is my favorite, or maybe the DSP, or the little mirror circles, or……..  Hah!  I don’t need to choose a favorite since I get it all in the product medley!

Here are samples from the home office.

The item code is #150059 and the cost is $80.  One of my fellow demonstrators calculated what it would cost to buy everything individually and reported that it is a fair price.  You just need to add some basic card stock and adhesive to be ready to create beautiful projects.

While you are ordering you might want to replenish your paper inventory.  I use a color inventory chart to keep on top of my supplies:

Color Inventory Chart 17-19

Color Inventory Chart 17-19 Excel File

Color Inventory Chart 17-19 pdf file

The new Annual Catalog starts in June and costs will go up a bit.  Price Increases pdf file

Cardstock prices go up only .25 to .50 depending on the size but embossing powder and foil sheets go up $1.00.

Hostess codes for May:

Tuesday club:  TQJWVPRX  Jo will be our hostess and guests are welcome.  Click on the calendar at the side of the blog for details.

Saturday club:  DP7XS3NC  Lisa will be our hostess and guests are welcome.  Click on the calendar at the side of the blog for details.

Why use a code?  For club members, their club commitment is fulfilled and their hostess gets the credit.  If you are not a club member you will help out our hostess and not leave free hostess dollars on the table that no one uses.  Of course if your order is $150 or more you DO NOT use the code since you will get the hostess rewards yourself.

May Paper Pumpkin is special with our co-founder Shelli Gardner designing the kit.

You can order the Paper Pumpkin kit with a prepaid subscription code.

The cost of the kits will go up $2.05 with the new catalog so you would be well advised to buy several months before the cost rises.  You can always suspend your subscription for a month you know you won’t be home to craft.  The subscription will stay active and paid up.  You can keep suspending each month by the 10th of the month. Click on the above to go to my online store.   I love to subscribe September, October and November so I get the Halloween kit, the Thanksgiving kit and the Christmas card kit but I think this May kit will be special so I will buy a subscription and then be able to suspend through the summer.  Standard shipping of 10% or $6.95 does apply on prepaid subscriptions so don’t buy a subscription if it is your only purchase.   The month to month plan through Paper Pumpkin’s site is $19.95 per month and includes shipping.  You only pay taxes based on your home address so the kit runs around $21.50 in total.  Click below to go to the Paper Pumpkin site and sign up:

The kit the picture shows is the April kit!  It had a distINKtive stamp set and lovely embellishments.

One last point to note – THE CLEARANCE RACK HAS BEEN RESTOCKED!

Okay, one last, last point – the retiring products are here for only one more month.  Click to go to the online store:

Have a wonderful day!

SAL,    Send A Lovely May day box (I am thinking one of our pop up card boxes full of flowers)

Storage by Stampin’ Up! Your Space.Your Way. New Line of Stampin’ Up! Products

Hello Stamping Friends,

It has been all over social media but I like to wait until you can actually order the products before presenting them.  Well, today is the day that the new Stampin’ Storage line of products is available to everyone to order!  Let’s start with a quick video from the home office- click the picture:

Now let’s look at the individual pieces and prices:

PS:   At convention in Orlando we used that lovely Floral Grid Paper and it has only been available to demonstrators until today!

Here is a configuration tool to help you decide what you need and a set of frequently asked questions:

I will order a set to display at the April Luncheon on Saturday, April 13, or Tuesday, April 16.  Click HERE for details or to RSVP.

As a special bonus, order $75 or more of this or any product during the month of April with hostess code KTHPFHPP and I will make you a set of five Delightful Daisy cards with a design similar to the one created and shown here by Janice Laroche:

If you ordered one each of the storage units, the grid paper and one month of a prepaid Paper Pumpkin you would hit the $75 total.

Did you like that video-(click on the last line above if you missed it)?  Maybe we should add sponge daubers #133773 to our order.  The stamp set Tanner used is on page 110 of the catalog:

‘Healing Hugs’ is a great get well stamp set that is easy to overlook in the catalog and a necessary addition to our collection.

I followed a rabbit trail to the craft quotations on Pinterest and laughed so hard I…….well you don’t need to know the rest.  Here is one from The Funny Beaver.com:

I am off to order the storage boxes and plan the luncheon!  Be sure and RSVP soon.  The hostess code is KTHPFHPP.

SAL,  Smile A Little

Peaceful Place Bridge Fold Card

Hello Stamping Friends,

The new hostess code is:  TJPDW3JC, use this code if your order is under $150 and we won’t lose the hostess benefits.  If your order is $150 or more you earn the hostess rewards yourself!

I have a Bridge Fold Card for you today using:

  • Peaceful Place Stamp set, page 59 of the annual catalog, item #146689 in clear, #146686 in wood
  • Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, page 189, #146338
  • Botanical Tags Thinlits, page 20, #146824 or bundle with the stamp set in clear or wood.
  • Leaf Ribbon, page 200,  #146905
  • Linen Thread, page 201, #104199
  • Whisper White Baker’s Twine, page 201, #124262
  • Tranquil Tide 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon, page 37 of the Holiday Catalog, #147802
  • Tools: Big Shot, Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder, Tranquil Tide Paper and Ink, Adhesives & scissors

The green is the rich Tranquil Tide and so much better in real life.  The card folds down either to the left or right to fit perfectly in our envelopes.

  • Base,  Gray Granite,  8″ X 4 1/4″, scored at   1 1/4″,  2 1/2″,  5 1/2″,  6 3/4″
  • Middle Layer,  Tranquil Tide,  4″ X  2 3/4″
  • Panels,  Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper,  4″  X  1″  make 4
  • Bridge Base, Tranquil Tide, 5 1/2″ X 1 1/4″
  • Bridge Top Layer, Gray Granite, 5 1/4″ X  1″
  • Bird Cut Out, 2 1/2″  X  2 1/2″
  • Scrap of Gray Granite to cut out birds
  • Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon,  6 1/2″, this gives you 1/2″ to lap on each side
  • Leaf Ribbon,  8 leaves cut out and 4 layered on each side of greeting with glue dots
  • Linen Thread, 12″,  6″ for each side
  • Baker’s Twine, Whisper White, 12″,  6″ for each side, Tie a bow together with the linen thread

Stamp the tree scene in Versa Mark, apply white embossing powder and heat.  I used Tranquil Tide ink for the greeting and set up the Stamparatus so I could stamp it, reink and stamp again to get a nice dark image.  I am loving this tool!  Attach one side of the bridge to the very edge using double back tape and then fold over that side to apply the other side of the bridge to the opposite edge with your double back tape.

I see lots of potential for Christmas cards using our lovely Designer Series Paper.  The birds could have a tiny ornament on a metallic thread hanging from their beaks.  Hmmmm……. it’s fun to get in the design mode!  I would love to see what bridge fold cards you make!

Stampin’ Up! had a special announcement for us at last week’s convention in Orlando.  They are introducing “Cling Stamps” and  they are no longer going to carry the wood stamps or the clear stamps as we used to know them.  The cling stamps look just like the clear stamps with the nice red rubber and the labels all look the same – until you attach them.  The label is made of a new product which clings really well to the blocks!  No more putting two way glue on the back of our stamps! They warned us, though, that both sides are very “clingy” so you need to be extra careful in putting the label on since you won’t be able to pull it up and reposition it.  Wood will still be used on the large background stamps, otherwise our options will be ‘cling’ or ‘photopolymer’.

They also had another announcement.  They have a Stamparatus bag!  It will be available for you to purchase December 5! It could be under the Christmas tree for you;  just have that special someone call me and I will order it (secretly)!

While you are thinking Christmas gifts, you might want to consider gifting Paper Pumpkin.  You can order Paper Pumpkin in the online store and you will be emailed a code and a link to Paper Pumpkin.  You will give the very fortunate recipient the code and they will go online to enter their Paper Pumpkin gift under their own email.  Be sure they know that they do not enter their payment information since you have already paid for it.

1-month, item # 137858;   3-month, #137859;   6-month, #137860;  12 month, #137861

You could make a Christmas card with an insert for a gift card and your shopping for them is done- and you have the fun of creating a card instead of braving the crowded mall!

At our Christmas Stamp A Stacks, see dates below, I will have a snowflake card and an optional insert with the following poem by Holley Gerth.

“Every new snowflake comes to the earth

As a picture of our Savior’s birth,

Because they are sent from up above

And remind us of God’s care and love.

Each one is so intricate and small

Because Christ sees the details of us all,

And just as two are never the same

The Lord knows and calls us each by name.

Snowflakes gently cover the world in white

And hide what’s unlovely from our sight,

Showing us how He covers our sin

And gives us His grace when we come to Him.

So may every snowflake bring Christ to mind

And in every bit of white may we find

A  reason to celebrate anew,

And a reminder of His love for you.

Hello Stamping Friends,

Happy Fall!  My thoughts and prayers go out for all of you and your loved ones affected by hurricane Florence.

I need to repost the Standard Layers document that I use almost daily to keep from making errors in calculations of card layers.  I found it embedded in other posts and hard to find, so click on the blue to get a printable document.  In the future you can just type Standard Layers in the search bar and it will direct you to here.

‘Color Your Season’ Limited Time Special Edition Set

Hello Stamping Friends,

This month is flying by so I must hurry and notify you of an amazing limited time special edition stamp set with framelits!

Introducing ‘Blended Seasons’ with ‘Stitched Seasons’ framelits that have lovely stitching on both the inside and outside of the cut!  Amazingly beautiful!  Let’s check out some cards made for spring and summer (notice the stitching on the outside of the cut!):

And here are two cards made for fall and Christmas (I love the font on these greetings.  Here the stitching is

on the inside of the cut):

These products are available only through August 31!

Still hesitating?  Add bonus days to the deal!

Pinterest was full of amazing creations by some of Stampin’ Up!’s best demonstrators.  Shirley Gentry fussy cut the flowers and uses both the framelit cut out with inside stitching and the outside stitching showing on the background.  Those little vines are in the framelits as well.   Fabulous!

Isn’t this an amazing way to use all the layers with all the stitching showing?!  This card is by Satomi at https://letsmakeacardsatomiwellard.blogspot.com.su.  Note the new Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ mini striped ribbon, #146940, and the 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper White,  #146912.

Mary Brown’s card is done in awesome colors of pink and green and using the “Tufted” embossing folder, #146335, for a great background.

The leaves in this set are awesome as they look like they are floating to the ground.  Satomi made this card as well. Notice the grain stamped on the wood.

I love Christmas bells and this one is perfect especially since it has a framelit to cut it out!  Megan Daves’ card is lovely!

Tracy Elsom shows us how to make a quick and easy Christmas tag for gifts and goodies!

That is my fashion show of cards!  It is a good thing I don’t have to be a judge and pick just one.  They are all beautiful!

I will set up a special event to make three cards- (one with flowers, one with leaves, one for Christmas) free to anyone who purchases the bundle from me.  If you are out of state, I will mail you the kits with instructions.

The hostess code through tomorrow is GJ3Y7SRQ.   On Saturday I will set up a new hostess code for the September 11 club meeting.  Club is here at my house in Castle Rock and guests are welcome for $5; or let me demonstrate the fun of stamping to you and your friends at your home.  Just call me and we can arrange a date!  303-815-0838

SAL,  (Seasons Are Lovely)  Here are the sets again.  Click on the little SAL in the computer to go to my store.

The bundle does not include the Watercolor Pencils, so be sure and put those in separately.

Graceful Glass Vellum Bookmarks & Delightfully Detailed Suite

Hello Stamping Friends,

A new catalog year has started and Stampin’ Up! is celebrating their 30th birthday!  It is great to be part of a company that keeps on keeping on (and keeping up with modern trends)!

Thank you for supporting the catalog launch on Friday and Saturday and the craft sale.  All the left over products that didn’t sell are now in a new tab on this blog that I titled “Bake Sale”.

The new hostess code is C2HE3X22.  Our bimonthly club is July 10th and guests are welcome for $5 or a $25 order placed between now and July 10th.

For the make and take at the catalog launch I displayed several new products and the favorite was the Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut paper shown on pages 38-39.  It is part of the Delightfully Detailed suite. Our wonderful home office has compiled a set of videos introducing the new catalog products and this is the video that showcases the paper we all loved.

Click here to see all the new products-the paper is toward the end:

Of course, at every catalog launch we must make a ‘traditional’ bookmark for our catalogs and a color chart with the new In Colors so we can actually see them, punch them – love them!  The bookmarks used the In Colors and the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum #146344, page 165.

The ribbon is 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle in Whisper White, #146912, and various baker’s twine including the new Nature’s Twine #146342 which has the Grapefruit Grove color-see pages 200-201.

  • Bookmark Base = 2″ X 7″  punched at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch #133324
  • Whisper White for behind the vellum = 1 1/2″  X  6″
  • Vellum = 1 1/2″ X 6″ (except the yellow roses which are 1 1/4″ X 5 1/2″)
  • Black for the yellow roses = 1 1/2″ X 5 3/4″

The color charts use a 3/4″ length of cardstock punched with the retired banner punch.

To make vellum bright white, rub the backside of the vellum with a stylus #126189 on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat #126199:

The front side:

It also gives a 3D look and feel.

The color charts all had to be redone for the color revamp.  This year I added a few extra color charts to compare color families.

Brights; Neutrals; Basics;

Regals and Subtles;

In Colors;

Blues and Grays; Reds and Pinks;

Purples and Browns; Oranges and Yellows; Greens;

We have 13 greens so the last two had to be split.

There are twelve Color Charts.  Email me if you would like the Excel spreadsheet or if you would like to order a set of cards.  I will make them up for you for $8 – pick up at my house; or $10 -mailed within the USA.  email:  stampalosopher@gmail.com

Contact me if you would like a catalog, I would love to earn your business and be your demonstrator.

SAL,

Karen
